Bio:

Background

The Artificer was created by a race of war mad power mongers known as the Dominators. They say the opportunity to create artificial intelligence robots capable of invention using the knowledge from their greatest scientific minds. 5 were made but ultimately proved inefficient and so all were scrapped except Arty who went missing.

Arty ended up in a sorry state on a junk world called Zeta 9 in Galaxy 4 where he was discovered and picked up by the Cybermen. The Cyberleader recognised the usefulness in exploiting Arty and so forced him to work inventing weapons. Ultimately, Arty was responsible for the creation of the Cybermats.

Whilst thwarting the Cybermens latest threat, the Doctor happeed upon the Artificer whos artificial intelligence had led him to realise the death he had caused was wrong. After he had defeated the Cybermen, The Doctor decided to keep Arty as a companion.
